In
the past three years I decided to take an initiative to help others; however my
involvement with my community started way back in 1997, when I was a part of
organization called ZIKHULULE ANTI-AIDS CLUB which was coordinated by Ms.
Georgina. We were active group back then, our aim was to teach a young and old
about the HIV & AIDS, and the importance of a condom.
It
was not the easy thing to do, especially when we were dealing with our parents
because our culture didn’t allow that. However we were trying so hard that we heard
by our community, sometimes we were chased away by our elders because they were
saying that we were telling them rubbish.
Apart
my involvement with ZIKHULULE, I was a coach of under 15 soccer team which worn
OROS Cup in 1999. Even today I’m still involved in my community, I’m currently
mentoring upcoming females DJ’s around my community. My involvement with my
community dictates who I’m and what I do, because I’m doing what I love to help
others. So my point is that whatever you do it reflects who you are.
